Day 1 at Newby Wiske Hall 🌿 Y8 students set off this morning for their residential and have already thrown themselves into a range of exciting activities—including abseiling! A fantastic start to the trip, with great energy and enthusiasm from everyone involved. Well done Y8!

On Monday after school Y11 students had their final Assertive Mentor meetings. These were filled with meaningful conversations about revision strategies, motivation, and recognition of how far they’ve come. We’re incredibly proud of their progress and the positive mindset they’re showing as they prepare for the next stage. Well done, Y11 👏

Last week, our Year 9 & 10 students took part in an engaging History workshop focused on World War One as part of their curriculum. Students had the opportunity to handle replica equipment & experience just how heavy it was, try on uniforms from the period, & take part in an insightful session exploring the realities of war — including the challenges of medicine, training, & life on the front line. A fantastic hands-on experience that really brought history to life!

Y10 Geography students had a fantastic day in Hornsea completing both physical & human geography fieldwork. From investigating coastal processes along the Holderness Coast to exploring environmental quality, students gained valuable first-hand experience to support their GCSE studies. Excellent engagement, teamwork and geography skills on display throughout the day 👏
