Message from the Head of School

Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy stands proudly as a brand new academy that opened in September 2021. I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our fantastic website which I hope gives you insight into Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy.

We are now in our fourth year of opening and have four cohorts of students currently in the academy. Our students are nurtured both academically and pastorally at Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy as we provide an exciting and unique opportunity for all students starting their secondary education.

Our Values and Expectations define us and we demand excellence from staff and students in everything we do. We have established a strong reputation for providing an excellent education and as a result, Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy is fast becoming a very popular choice for parents and carers locally. 

Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy is the trust’s third secondary school in South Leeds and we have implemented our tried and tested track record of systems and experienced staff, focusing on teaching and learning as the single most important thing that we do.

We moved into our brand new academy building in September 2023 and the facilities are amazing. Students enjoy the learning environments and settle well into academy life in our state of the art building. 

We design challenging and innovative learning experiences for students so they are highly engaged. Our enriching schemes of learning will inspire students with a passion for lifelong learning.

I look forward to our fourth excellent year at Cockburn Laurence Calvert Academy and build upon the successful foundations from our opening year.
